Now that Christmas is over some customers may be on the lookout for trains for younger family members to introduce them to large scale railway modelling as a hobby. Bachmann have just released an entirely new range of colourful and robust products designed to appeal to the younger generation. There are 3 complete train sets and a variety of Locomotives, Passenger and Baggage Cars, Cabooses, Tank Cars and Hoppers in bright red, green, blue and yellow liveries.  Below left is the Fast Freight Set which comes with an 0-4-0 Steam locomotive, 3 wagons, an circle of track and associated electrical control equipment.

On the right above is the Short Line Passenger Set comprising a tender locomotive, two passenger cars, track and controls. You can also supplement these sets with a selection of separate sale items some of which are pictured below.

The German firm of PIKO have introduced an impressive BR154  Electric Locomotive in green DB livery for 2012 along with eye-catching Silberling Passenger cars from the same Epoch IV. A number of videos have been posted on YouTube and this one demonstrates the quality of the new products.
